President Gill’s Report 2022-2023

The start of this WI year was a very difficult one for me, but with the support of you all we have gone forward in a very positive way, and I thank you all for that.

We have welcomed more new members…Anne Brundell, Jenny,Sharon and we have welcomed back Pat Earl. I hope you all enjoy being a member of Radley WI

My thanks again go to the Committee, to Pat our Secretary as she keeps us all in touch with everything that is happening both in our Oxfordshire Federation and National, with all the emails and correspondence, and also making sure I do everything right and in the correct order. Thank you Pat for all that you do…

Maria, as our new Treasurer has already done a remarkable job with our accounts, so that every month we are brought up to date, and in detail, on the state of our finances. Thank you Maria for doing an excellent job.

Sue B has again presented us with a very varied and interesting programme for the coming year.. many different speakers as well as some ‘in house’ craft evenings. Thank you, Sue, it is not an easy job, matching Speakers with dates etc.. also thank you for the pages you write for the Radley News each month, always very informative and with a bit of humour….

Many thanks go to Carol, who was new to the Committee this year, but who does anything and everything to help as well as bringing new ideas for fundraising etc., so thank you Carol.

Thanks to Doreen for taking the minutes at our members meeting. Doreen has decided to step down from the Committee this time, and so we thank you for your help. To Trine who is a big help with all her knowledge of WI and points us in the right direction with so many things…and to Val who is always ready with a helping hand.

Thank you to Judith who continues to be our custodian of the tea, coffee and biscuits for our meetings, and never lets us down! And I thank each and every one of you for your help with making the teas at our meetings, for selling the raffle tickets and for always being ready to make cakes for us when we need them for cake stalls for fund raising. Also to Sue H for continuing to be our sunshine lady, and we hope to see her at more meetings soon.

Thank you also for all the help in making and displaying the Poppies in the village, a lot of hard work went into it all and they were very well received. I think the villagers were quite impressed!

And so as we go forward with the next WI year, I hope we continue to flourish and that you will enjoy being a member of Radley WI…
